Things are getting rather hectic. Having finished making lists, filling out forms, weighing luggage and saving money, travel time is nearly upon me.
I'm milking this departing thing for all it's worth and am drowning my sorrows in rice and beers at my favourite Wellington haunts (I'm talking to you, Siam Reap!). I have been saying my goodbyes to various friends, and it's nice of them to put up with me angsting about the little things - like the right kind of socks for a trans-Pacific flight.... I shall be relying on that good humour if this all goes to pot and I'm back in Capital City by September....
Anyway, having sorted my first blogging thingamajig, I can now tick that off my 'To Do' list....
(By the way - Dear Everyone, Welcome to my blog!!)
Next task: tracking down powdered bacon carbonara sauce for Sarah, soon to be my hostess in Chicago ... where on earth am I supposed to look?

Hey Hey Amy.
Nice blog. Can't wait to hear about San Fran. Make a list of 10 things I need to do when I'm there in October!
I hear the Pirate Supplies Shop is well worth the visit. http://www.826valencia.org/store/

Great idea Amy!
Cotton socks are good, but those large and super attractive surgical socks are supposed to help prevent clotting etc. Where what makes you comfy, drink lots, and try and walk about...
Happy travels,
April
That should be "wear". Sigh.
Hi Amy
You seem to be adjusting well to the challenges of travels and cultural anomalies. You will still be adjusting to the time zone changes. San Fran will seem reasonably familiar because it is so similar to Wellington - just much bigger. Off to Chicago next? Now that will be a different experience.
All is well here. I have been asked to participate in the "process review". First meeting is tomorrow. So, as usual, I will but in my 5 cents worth - well, that usually is amy dollar's worth.
Take care good friend, be safe, and mostly, ejoy, enjoy, enjoy.
Love Heidi
